The iconic State man has been interred in his Native home town of Santa, Mezam Division, Northwest Region of Cameroon, today July 3rd 2021. The State burial was massively attended by Northwest Elites and Political bigwigs from all across the Nation, Traditional authorities, top adminstrative officials of the North West region led by Governor Adolphe Lele Afrique who all gathered to pay their last respect and bid farewell to the fallen State man. The Right Honourable, died on May 4, 2021 in North Carolina, USA at the age of 86.

Prime Minister, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, Representative of the Head of State, President Paul Biya posthumously decorated the deceased and raised him to the rank of the Grand Cordon of the Cameroon Order of Merit.

In the numerous eulogies read, including that of the presidential couple (Paul and Chantal Biya) addressed to the family by Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique, Rt. Hon. Simon Achidi Achu has been described as a true statesman and a real political icon in Cameroon. He will be remembered by many as a man of examplary humility, great leader, philanthropist, warm-hearted father who helped many to become something in life, and an exceptional political icon who demystified politics and made it practical. The Right Honourable, died on May 4, 2021 in North Carolina, USA at the age of 86.

After the official rites at the Santa ceremonial ground, the mortal remains of the fallen State man's were conveyed to his estate "Rock Farm" on the hills of Santa where he has been finally laid to rest in his estate where he had practically spent most of his retirement time working on his farm.

the eldest son of Late Pa Achidi Achu, Jude Tetang Achu expressed gratitude to the State and all mourners present for accompanying their father to his final resting place in Santa.
