MINDEF reiterates government's commitment to end the Anglophone crisis

The minister delegate at the Presidency incharge of Defense, Joseph Beti Assomo has reiterated government's resolve to put an end the crisis that has been rocking the North West region for four years now. Minister Joseph Beti Assomo made the statement in Bamenda Friday November 20, 2020 while chairing a security meeting as he led a four man delegation of top military officials to Bamenda. "I wish to highlight that our presence here, on instructions of the head of State, commander in chief of the arm forces, attests to government's resolve to provide an effective and definite solution to this crisis that keeps tormenting our people who are only asking for a peaceful life", Minister Joseph Beti Assomo said. Youth Affairs and Civic Education minister visits Bamenda, hands over economic support to youths

Minister Mounouna Foutsou  The minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou has ended a one day visit to Bamenda on Saturday November 14, where he handed to some youths financial and installation materials. The youths are beneficiaries of the three years special youth plan instituted by the head of State. While addressing the beneficiaries, Minister Mounouna Foutsou encouraged them to implement their projects without fear. "I have been following your journey which has not been an easy one. You have shown great endurance and it is time for self confidence as you implement your project. Recently, the population of Bamenda has witnessed frequent attacks perpetrated by terrorists and criminals. These attacks have lead to kidnappings, robbery of banks and stores, looting, wanton killings of civilians and members of the defence and security forces. Due to all these, an operation to secure the city of Bamenda and it's surroundings has been launched by the defense and security forces. H.E President Paul Biya The Elections will take place at Divisional Headquarters. North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique suspends salaries of ghost workers

Northwest Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique has suspended the salaries of some 100 civil servants who have currently abandoned their duty posts and not rendering services in the restive North West Region. The suspension of the salaries came following a Regional disciplinary board meeting that authorised the Governor to proceed with the sanctions. He will continue in the months ahead to suspend the salaries of more civil servants who have abandoned their duty post till all return to work.

Confirmed COVID 19 Case in the North West Region

The regional delegate of health for the North West, Dr Che Kingsley Soh announces first confirmed case of COVID 19 in the region in Andek a locality in the North West region. The lady (names withheld) came in from Kenya and escaped quarantine. Later she moved to Bamenda via public transport and to mbengwi. With the aid of a bike, she moved to her village Ngie. The news was made official during the regional COVID19 assessment meeting of Monday April 6th 2020 presided over by the chairman of the committee for the fight against COVID 19 in the region, Governor Lele Lafrique to assess the health situation of the region. Currently the pandemic has eaten into five (Centre, Littoral, West, South West and North West) out of ten regions of the republic of Cameroon. NORTH WEST REGIONAL DELEGATE OF HEALTH LAUNCHES SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN AGAINST CORONA VIRUS

Over 3000 passengers entering the town of Bamenda have been screened for the Corona virus following a health sensitization campaign carried out, this Saturday March 21st 2020 by the North West Regional delegate of Health Doctor che Kingsley Soh and his team of experts. The regional Delegate of Public Health NW  The sensitization campaign and screening exercise took place at Matazem Santa, Northwest Region, with a team of medical experts led by the NW Regional Delegate of health who screened passengers of all the Buses entering the town, an exercise that began at about 4am.  The aim of the outing was to sensitize the passengers on all the measures they need to respect to avoid the virus and the measures put in the place by the government to stay free of the virus, for instance, no overcrowding, respect social distancing, always wash your hands with running water and soap, and in case of any suspected symptoms, get to the hospital immediately.  The regional delegate eq
